Subaru Forester Trim Levels

The highly capable and agile 2019 Subaru Forester is a car built with the driver in mind. The Maguire Subaru sales team is taking a closer look at what makes this car a valued choice for those in Ithaca, Elmira, and Cortland.

One way to personalize the driving experience is by choosing the trim level that's right for you. The Forester comes in five different trim options, which we're set to explore below.

Forester Standard

The base edition of the 2019 Forester features a 2.5L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine, with auto start-stop technology. It generates 182 horsepower and is able to handle both city streets and highways with grace and composure. The auto start-stop technology is a feature designed to save fuel. When at a stoplight or otherwise idling, the engine will shut down, which helps to save fuel. When it's time to get going again, just press down on the accelerator and you'll be on your way.

Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology comes standard too, and monitors traffic movement while optimizing cruise control and tracking your lane movements.

Features include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control: Keep a safe distance from the car in front of you by choosing the distance you want to keep, and the system will automatically adjust to maintain it.
  • Pre-Collision Braking System: Full brake force will be applied in emergency situations.
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning: This feature monitors position on the road and lets you know if lane swaying is detected.

The standard infotainment system includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration. Link up a smartphone to the screen and have access to text messages, navigation apps, and hands-free phone capability.

Forester Premium

The 8.7 inches of ground clearance offered by the Forester is nice to have, particularly if you're heading off the road in this vehicle. While all-wheel drive is standard on every trim, your drives will be enhanced on the Premium thanks to the X-MODE® and Hill Descent Control. This maximizes traction on slippery surfaces, coming in handy when the snow begins to fall.

While the base trim has a 4-speaker audio system, music will sound better on the 6-speaker setup on this trim. Inside the cabin, enjoy a few more niceties, such as a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Set the driver's seat to your liking, and have a better grip on things with this upgraded wheel.

Forester Sport

The X-MODE® system goes a step further on the Forester Sport, with dual-function X-MODE® offering settings for snow, dirt, and mud. Any off-roading adventure is possible with this feature.

Also, with the All-Weather Package, heated front seats come standard, which can quickly warm up the coldest mornings and chilliest nights. From those seats, you'll see the 6.3-inch color multifunction display, which provides a range of vehicle data right in front of you.

Fans of the color orange will have plenty of reason to love this edition of the Forester, too. It comes with orange and gloss black exterior accents, orange stitching and interior trim accents, and front, rear, and side underguards with orange accents.

Forester Limited

Seeing is believing thanks to the LED Steering Responsive Headlights and High Beam Assist (HBA). Instead of pointing straight ahead, the headlights will move as the vehicle moves, pointing in the direction you're going. The High Beam Assist (HBA) technology scans for oncoming traffic and toggles the high beams on and off without you having to remove your hands from the wheel.

Keyless Access with Push-Button Start technology lets you get into the Forester and start the car without having to reach for the key in your pocket. With the key in your pocket or purse, just walk up to the door handle and open it. Once inside, just press on the brake and push the button.

The infotainment system receives a major upgrade on this trim, with the 6.5-inch screen morphing into a larger 8-inch version. With this larger screen, you'll be able to see all your favorite apps and information even better.

Forester Touring

The exterior design is what stands out on the Touring trim, with appearance upgrades including chrome fog light trim, chrome door handles, and front, rear, and side underguards with silver accents. The front passenger seat becomes an 8-way power-adjustable seat, while the 2-position driver's seat memory with mirror synchronization remembers driver-specific settings.

The all-new Subaru DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System is a state-of-the-art system which can cut down on distracted driving. The system is constantly tracking your driving and can warn you if distracted or drowsy driving is detected. It can also remember up to five different drivers and their pre-set preferences like climate settings and seat position.
